Police in Regina charge 2nd person in forcible confinement after food delivery

REGINA — Police in Regina say a second person has been charged after a man was assaulted and forced to inhale drugs before being robbed.

Police say they received a report May 30 that a 23-year-old man had just finished a food delivery when he was approached by someone he didn't know.

They say the man was pulled out of his car and taken into the basement of a house, where it's alleged he was assaulted several times and forced to take substances believed to be drugs.

He was then made to transfer money to his assailant and was taken to an ATM to withdraw more money, at which point a female suspect appeared.

A 30-year-old man was charged in July and police have now arrested a 29-year-old woman.

Kristina Leah Carty, from Regina, faces charges that include robbery and forcible confinement.

She was to make her first court appearance Monday.
