NIPAWIN, CARROT RIVER — The waste disposal company that serves Nipawin and Carrot River is asking for help to keep their staff healthy.

MTN Disposal is asking those homes that have somebody who’s sick or showing symptoms of COVID-19, to place any items that have come in contact with their mouth, nose, eyes or hands in a bag and into the garbage – even if it’s an item that’s normally recycled, like water beverage bottles, yogurt containers, milk, juice, cartons and so on.

They ask that garbage is bagged securely and placed into the black waste cart. They ask to not place garbage loosely in the cart.

Used tissues and other disposable clean products, like wipes, should be placed into a bag then into the black garbage cart only.

Do not overfill carts or leave loose items on the ground. Cart lids must be fully closed to prevent windblown items. Items placed outside of the carts will not be collected.

As well, MTN Disposal asks to ensure accessible cart placement (four feet between cars or obstacles) to avoid manual handling by collectors.
